if i was in new york on a tuesday and i had to put an all star band together this is how it would turn out.
Damon Mack- Organ Daryl Young- Keys & synths (music director) Garnett Walters-Piano Nate Jones- Bass Randy Jenkins- Drums Allen Plummer- Percussion Phil Henry- Guitar
this list is strictly for cats that live in new york. if i picked out of the nearby guys that i know personally the list would be a little different.
Daryl Young- Organ (music director) John Peters- Piano Al Carty- Bass Allen Plummer- Percussion Randy Jenkins- Synths & Drums Phil Henry- Guitar Kyle Scott- Drums
these guys right here are simply among the best if not the best in the country. they read, crazy technique, innovative theorists, they groove, and they can play odd time. i just cant see any other group doing it better collectively.

i have never heard of most of your guys but i would definitely have to agree with kevin bond. kevin bond is by far one of the top ten keyboardists in the country.

i dont know some of the other guys but i would definitley have to disagree with Sheddrick, Jermaine, Donovan, and Sheldon. they are good, but only in certain elements. by the way how do you guys know Al and Randy? they just so happen to be two of the baddest cats in the country. period.

I heard Al and Randy at a gig in NY. I think this girl is signed. Lala james or something like that. Their chemistry is priceless. i also heard al at the underground and i saw him on david letterman and heard him on wax. he's a versatile cat. can't find that today...it's just about who can do licks the fastest. i want to know who can do licks, hold down the groove plus do pop, rock, gospel, r&b and flip it to jazz and big band stuff....not many! but al can...aight! from what i heard you can't sleep on randy either.

you are the only cat on this entire site who is totally accurate. and listen i am not saying this because randy is my best friend but honestly, he is the best drummer in the country as far as gospel and r&b cats are concerned. and not only that he is the most knowledgeable cat when it comes to music theory. and you are right al and randy are two of the most versatile cats playing right now. by the way her name is LEELA JAMES. and where are you from?

i can't say all that about randy as i only heard him once but, i can say that al is what's up when it comes to bass as i heard him several times in different settings. i would have to hear randy a few more times to agree with everything you're saying. i'm from LA but i now live in NYC

let me know i can give you some info on how you can hear more of randy. once you hear him you will totally understand what i am talking about. put it like this: randy was the best man at Al's wedding because they are just alike in everyway including music. you pick your best gospel/r&b drummer and put him against randy. i make randy a 100 to 1 favorite. TRUST ME!!!!
